James is treasurer of the Needlewriters co-operative and is a member of the Society of Authors and the International Flann O’Brien Society. He’s a member of the Oxford and London Unruly Writers’ group and is a founder member of the Cherwell and Avon Book Group.
He was a BBC’s Writer’s Room radio script contributor and was named as a writer to watch amongst 200 broadcasting writers by the BBC. He was a submissions reader for Felicity Bryan Associates literary agency and a regular presenter on Frome FM’s On-Air Book Group.
He is proud to have contributed to Carers UK‘s creative writing campaigns and was a Shooting Star ambassador – a children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, where he also worked as a volunteer kitchen porter.
