James has been playing ukulele since his daughter swapped her soprano uke for a netbook back in 2016. He has learned that it can produce deep toned melodies and intricate fingerpicking-over-chord combinations – but whether James can is another matter.
He now plays a tenor ukulele which has 18 frets and reentrant tuning to GCEA – 180 different chords and probably three times as many ways of playing them. He has an excellent music teacher who is guiding him through his RGT exams and showing him how to get the most out of playing music. He has recently taken up guitar and will begin his grades soon.
